In line with the school’s aim of providing venue for assessing the students’ skills and showcasing their talents, MCCID has again held its annual Academic Competition from March 14 – 25, 2008.
Now on its eight year, deaf students competed in 16 categories. All are subjects that they are taking up. Winners will receive Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. They will be awarded on April 5, coinciding with Sportsfest and Cake and Fruit Raffle Draw. The schedule of contest together with the instructor-in-charge are as follows:

Past winners of these events were selected to represent the school and competed in various local skills contests. Notable deaf persons were Aldrin Gabriel and Dianne Barcelona (7th International Skills Competition), Marinela Veras (Korean Skills Contest and Deaf Awareness Week Festival) and Aquarius Balisi (NDPR Week hosted by National Historical Institute).
